Professor Williams Abayaawien Atuilik is a distinguished academic, legal practitioner, and governance expert with over 25 years of teaching experience and a career spanning law, accounting, public financial management, and consulting. He currently serves as the Vice President and Provost of Heritage Christian University, where he also acts as Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research.
A Chartered Accountant, Barrister-at-Law, and Chartered Banker, Prof. Atuilik brings deep interdisciplinary expertise to his leadership and teaching. He is also a Senior Partner at Massim Consult, a consulting and advisory firm, and a Partner at Akanbek, Atuilik & Associates, a law firm based in Ghana.

Ph.D. in Business Administration (Accounting) – Capella University, USA
MSc in Public Financial Management – University of London (SOAS), UK
MSc in Business Administration (Finance) – GIMPA, Ghana
MA in Economic Policy Management – University of Ghana
LLB (Law) and BSc in Business Administration (Accounting) – University of Ghana
Executive programs from Stanford, Berkeley, and Harvard Kennedy School
Prof. Atuilik has delivered consulting services to institutions such as the World Bank, AfDB, USAID, WHO, and DFID across countries including Ghana, Liberia, Somalia, Sierra Leone, Botswana, South Africa, and Bangladesh—primarily in areas such as Public Financial Management, IPSAS, and IFRS.
He is a former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) and a member/fellow of numerous professional bodies, including:
Fellow, ICAG, CIB, CITG, CEPA, GIM, and IoD Ghana
Member, Ghana Bar Association, CIPFA (UK), IIA, GARIA, and Liberia’s Institute of CPAs
In governance, he chairs or serves on several boards and committees including:
Chairman, Massim Group, Alhert Insurance Brokerage, and the Centre for Entrepreneurship, Philanthropy & Ethics
Board Member, Intravenous Infusion PLC, Hope College, National Sustainability Reporting Implementation Committee
Former Board Member, Tema Oil Refinery, Office of the Registrar of Companies, University of Ghana, and Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA)
Within Heritage Christian University, Prof. Atuilik plays a central role on the Academic Board and chairs key academic committees including Appointments and Promotions, Examinations, Admissions, and Institutional Review Board.
A prolific academic, he has authored over 35 publications and served as examiner, moderator, and lecturer in numerous universities and professional institutes across West Africa.
